Team Chat
Deskmantle includes built-in team messaging so your internal communication lives alongside your CRM. No need for Slack or Microsoft Teams — discuss deals, share updates, and invoke Desk right in the conversation.
Getting Started with Team Chat
- Click Chat in the left sidebar.
- You will see a list of channels and direct messages.
- Click any channel to open it, or click + New Channel to create one.
Channels
Channels organize conversations by topic. Common channels include:
- #general — company-wide announcements and casual conversation.
- #sales — deal updates, win announcements, pipeline discussions.
- #support — client issues and escalations.
- #marketing — campaign updates and content collaboration.
Channels can be public (visible to all team members) or private (invite-only).
Direct Messages
Click any team member's name to start a direct message. You can also create group DMs with up to 10 people.
Using @desk in Chat
Mention @desk in any message to invoke the AI assistant. Examples:
- "@desk what is the total pipeline value this month?" — Desk queries your data and responds in the channel.
- "@desk draft a follow-up email for the Acme Corp deal" — Desk generates the email and posts it in the thread.
- "@desk summarize today's client calls" — Desk compiles summaries of all calls made today.
Pro tip: Pin important messages in channels by hovering over a message and clicking the pin icon. Pinned messages are accessible from the channel header.
Notifications
Configure notifications in Settings > Notifications > Chat. Options include:
- Notify for all messages, only mentions, or nothing.
- Mute specific channels.
- Set Do Not Disturb hours.
- Choose between push notifications, email digests, or both.
