Voice Mode
Voice mode lets you talk to Desk using natural speech — just like calling a colleague. It works on desktop and mobile, and Desk can take actions while you talk.
Enabling Voice Mode
- Click the microphone icon in the Desk chat panel (bottom-right of any page).
- Grant microphone permissions when your browser prompts you.
- Start speaking. Desk will transcribe your words in real time and respond with both text and synthesized speech.
Voice Commands You Can Use
Voice mode understands natural language, so you do not need to memorize exact commands. Here are examples:
- "Draft an email to Sarah about the project update" — Desk writes the email and shows it for your approval before sending.
- "What deals are closing this week?" — Desk queries your pipeline and reads back a summary.
- "Create a task: send proposal to Acme Corp by Friday" — Desk creates the task with the due date.
- "Call John Smith" — Desk initiates an outbound phone call through your Deskmantle number.
- "What's on my calendar today?" — Desk reads your schedule.
- "Summarize my last call with Jane" — Desk finds the most recent call transcript and provides a summary.
- "How much revenue did we close last month?" — Desk queries your financial data.
Actions Desk Can Take by Voice
Desk does not just answer questions — it takes action. With voice mode, Desk can:
- Send emails and SMS messages
- Create, update, and close deals
- Add and assign tasks
- Schedule meetings and send calendar invites
- Log notes on client records
- Generate reports and export data
- Place outbound phone calls
Pro tip: You can change the Desk voice in Settings > AI > Voice. Choose from several natural-sounding voices in different accents.
Tips for Best Results
- Speak clearly and at a natural pace.
- Use client names as they appear in your CRM for best matching.
- If Desk misunderstands, say "no, I meant..." and Desk will correct itself.
- Voice mode works best with a headset or in a quiet environment.
