Task Management

Create, assign, and prioritize tasks with AI categorization.

Task Management

Tasks in Deskmantle keep your team organized and accountable. Every task can be linked to a client, deal, or project. Desk helps by auto-generating tasks from calls, emails, and meetings.

Creating Tasks

There are multiple ways to create tasks:

  • Manual — click Tasks in the sidebar, then + New Task.
  • From a client record — click the Tasks tab on any client and add a task linked to them.
  • From a deal — add tasks specific to a deal (e.g., "Send revised proposal").
  • By voice — tell Desk "Create a task to follow up with Sarah on Friday."
  • From email — hover over any email and click "Create Task." The email is linked to the task.
  • Auto-generated — after calls, Desk can auto-create tasks from action items mentioned in the conversation.

Task Fields

  • Title — a clear, actionable description.
  • Description — additional context, notes, or instructions.
  • Assignee — the team member responsible.
  • Due date — when it needs to be done.
  • Priority — Low, Medium, High, or Urgent.
  • Status — To Do, In Progress, Waiting, Done.
  • Tags — for categorization and filtering.
  • Linked records — associate with clients, deals, or custom objects.

Task Views

Switch between views using the toggle in the top-right:

  • List view — a sortable, filterable table of all tasks.
  • Board view — Kanban columns by status (To Do, In Progress, Done).
  • Calendar view — tasks plotted on a calendar by due date.
  • My Tasks — a filtered view showing only your assigned tasks.

AI Categorization

When you create a task with a natural-language title, Desk automatically suggests a priority, due date, and tags based on the content. For example, "Urgent: fix broken checkout page" would be auto-tagged as High priority with a suggested due date of today.

Pro tip: Enable Daily task digest in notifications to receive a morning email listing your tasks for the day, sorted by priority.
