Importing Data from HubSpot, Salesforce, and CSV

Step-by-step instructions for importing contacts and deals from other platforms.

Importing Your Data

Migrating from another CRM does not have to be painful. Deskmantle supports one-click imports from HubSpot and Salesforce as well as a flexible CSV uploader with automatic column mapping.

Option A: Import from HubSpot

  1. Navigate to Settings > Data > Import.
  2. Select HubSpot and click Connect.
  3. Log into your HubSpot account and authorize the OAuth integration.
  4. Choose what to import: Contacts, Companies, Deals, and/or Notes.
  5. Deskmantle maps HubSpot fields to Deskmantle fields automatically. Review the mapping table — you can adjust any field by clicking the dropdown.
  6. Click Start Import. You will see a real-time progress counter. Most imports under 10,000 records finish in under a minute.
Pro tip: If you have custom properties in HubSpot, Deskmantle will create matching custom fields so no data is lost.

Option B: Import from Salesforce

  1. Navigate to Settings > Data > Import.
  2. Select Salesforce and click Connect.
  3. Log in with your Salesforce credentials and authorize the connection.
  4. Select the objects to import: Leads, Contacts, Accounts, Opportunities, Tasks.
  5. Map Salesforce fields to Deskmantle fields. The auto-mapper handles about 90% of fields correctly — review and tweak the rest.
  6. Click Start Import and monitor progress.

Option C: CSV Upload

  1. Prepare a CSV file with headers in the first row. Common columns: Name, Email, Phone, Company, Stage.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Data > Import > CSV.
  3. Drag and drop your file or click to browse. Maximum file size is 50 MB.
  4. Deskmantle reads the headers and shows a Column Mapping table. For each CSV column, select the Deskmantle field it should map to — or create a new custom field on the fly.
  5. Preview the first five rows to verify data looks correct.
  6. Click Import. Duplicates are detected by email address. Choose to skip, overwrite, or merge duplicates.
Pro tip: Export a sample CSV from the Import page to see exactly which columns Deskmantle expects — this speeds up mapping considerably.

After the Import

Once the import completes, navigate to CRM > Clients to verify your data. Use filters to sort by import date. If any records failed, Deskmantle provides a downloadable error report with line numbers and reasons.
