Contracts and E-Signatures

Create, send, and manage contracts with built-in electronic signatures.

Contracts and E-Signatures

Deskmantle includes a full contract management system so you can create, send, sign, and store contracts without needing DocuSign or PandaDoc. Contracts are legally binding and audit-trailed.

Creating a Contract

  1. Navigate to a deal or client record and click Contracts > + New Contract.
  2. Choose a template or start from a blank document.
  3. Use the rich text editor to write your contract. Insert merge fields like {{client.name}}, {{deal.value}}, {{today}}.
  4. Add signature fields — drag and drop signature blocks where each party needs to sign.
  5. Add date fields and initial fields if needed.
  6. Click Send for Signature.

The Signing Experience

When you send a contract, the recipient receives an email with a link. Clicking the link opens a clean, mobile-friendly signing experience:

  1. The signer reviews the full document.
  2. Required fields are highlighted with guided navigation.
  3. The signer draws their signature with a finger or mouse, or types it.
  4. Once all fields are completed, the signer clicks Finish.
  5. Both parties receive a completed PDF with a certificate of completion including timestamps, IP addresses, and a unique document ID.

Contract Templates

Build reusable templates in Settings > Sales > Contract Templates:

  • Service agreements
  • Non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)
  • Statements of work (SOWs)
  • Master service agreements (MSAs)
  • Independent contractor agreements
Pro tip: Ask Desk to review a contract before sending. Say "Review this contract for any missing clauses" and Desk will flag potential issues like missing termination clauses or unclear payment terms.

Contract Storage and Search

All signed contracts are stored in the client record and are fully searchable. You can filter contracts by status (draft, pending, signed, expired) and search by content.
